Your wedding is one of the best days of your life. It also happens to be one of the most stressful to plan. Regardless of whether you are having a small or big wedding, fancy or casual or just having a party, there is a lot of planning involved. There are so many apps out there that it can be hard to know where to start.
BUDGET
It’s important to start your process with your budget. This will be a deciding factor in the type of event you can run.
WeddingHappy – this app builds a customised schedule with your wedding date, including checklists and suggested due dates. It also keeps track of payment due dates and has a spending summary. This can also be used offline so doesn’t eat into your data usage.
INSPIRATION
Many brides already have an idea of what they want but it’s important to get ideas of what your options are.
Pinterest – this is the first stop for most brides. You can create boards where you can keep all of your inspiration in one easy click. Boards can be shared with others very easily, even if they are not Pinterest users, so share them with your bridal party and vendors so you get the wedding you imagine in your mind.
ALL IN ONE
There are a number of websites that provide lists of vendors and venues and you can get some great ideas from one stop on the internet.
WedShed – this website has created a one stop shop for some of the most unique venues and talented vendors in Australia and New Zealand.
Easy Weddings– this website provides advice, inspiration and a list of suppliers including reviews.
STATIONERY
The invitations and other items such as menu cards and place cards provide a glimpse as to what guests can expect from your event. You will need to decide on whether you want some amazing custom design or a simple and elegant look or something in between. This will depend largely on the theme of your wedding.
Vistaprint – This is one of the lower cost printing options for invitations, save the date and menu cards. You can use one of their designs or create your own and get it printed. The image quality is good and Vistaprint warns you if it is not a high enough resolution. The only downside is that they do not do custom designs that are different from the sizes and styles on their site.
Etsy – this is the home of custom items. There are a number of stationery shops that cater specifically for brides and weddings. Many of these will custom design something to your specifications. Etsy is also great for other wedding items with everything from personalised clothes hangers to gorgeous etched glassware for bride and groom.
SEATING CHART
The bane of most wedding planning couples, the seating chart causes numerous headaches as you make sure that you create the most politically correct seating options for family and friends.
AllSeated – this website lets you send them your floor plan and they will digitise it into 3d for you so you can customise your seating plan and manage your guest list accordingly. This is one of the most difficult aspects of planning a wedding and this makes it so much easier.
ADMINISTRATION
For the organised bride.
Office Lens – this app lets you take a picture of a document and save it as a PDF. Fantastic if you need to sign documents for vendors but don’t have easy access to a scanner.
Google Drive – accessible from anywhere with access to internet, this is a simple choice to keep all your documents in one place.
FOR THE GUESTS
WedPic – this is a great wedding photo sharing app. You can ask all of your guests to upload all of their photos to the one place with unlimited storage. From here, you can order prints, download the photos and customise them with stickers, filters and more.
Wix – this site offers couples everything they need to create a beautiful (and free) wedding website! They also introduced the new Wix Events app to make wedding planning online even easier. Wix events app has everything you need to manage your event online, including: invites, easy RSVPs, ability to track & manage your guest list, custom templates and much more.
IN CONCLUSION
These are just a few options to help simplify the wedding planning process. Google will be your best friend when searching and there are so many options out there regardless of how out of the box your wedding will be.
